Sponsored Dog Walk

Some of my doggy friends and I wanted to help raise money for the Miner's Statue Appeal. Lots of people, and other animals sponsored us (with money not dog biscuits!). We set off at 11.00am on Sunday 10th May from St Just Cricket Club. We decided to take some of our human friends along too as they needed the exercise.

Moses, Saffron, Bramble, Gizzmoo, Jed, and Jason and friends!

It was hot and sunny, and there was plently of paths and grassy fields to have doggy fun in! The walk went along a three mile trail around Carn Gloose, and Cape Cornwall. Saffron and Bramble particularly enjoyed playing hide and seek with the rabbits (the rabbits hid and Saffron and Bramble seeked!).

We wagged our tails, and made friends with lots of ramblers and walkers along the way. Everyone was happy to see us, and hear about our doggy walk for the Statue Appeal.

Gizzmoo sniffed lots of interesting smells, and Jed and Jason just ran and ran. I stopped for a while to have a quick woof with Magic and Harry who live in Kent, and had brought their owners on holiday to Cornwall. They thought the Miner's Statue Appeal was a really good cause and gave us some money for the fund.

I also managed to persuade the very nice gentleman on the right to share his ice cream cornet!

At the end of the walk we had raised over £250, with money from supporters in Cornwall and other far away places like Liverpool and even Canada! Our owners needed a rest so we all had drink of lovely cool water, and a lie down in the sunshine. We're planning another walk in September and need more sponsors so get in touch if you'd like to help!
